Default Ionic Dynamics Roof Spoiler!

So I purchased and painted this spoiler from eBay. I tried mounting it with double sided tape but that did not hold very well. Any one have this spoiler and how what did you use to mount it on the car?

i used a double sided tape recommended by my installer friend but the spoiler started coming up on the right side. so he did suggest to use the black windshield silicone. once i lay the silicone on the edges of the roof is it easy to wipe off the excess ?

I wouldn't use any "cement type/permanent" adhesive, just in case you need to replace the chrome roof strips for any wear or other repair where you need them removed. (roof spoilers typically sit on top of the strips)

Did you clean the glass with acetone before applying the double sided tape. Something tells me that you didn't do something right because I have installed many roof spoilers before by 3M double sided tape and it was impossible to pull off without breaking the spoiler.

Start by cleaning the area real good. OPA or acetone work great for that. Use the 3M, don't make a mistake lining it up either because once it on, its on. Cementing it in place is asking for trouble down the road.

Correct, you want to allow it to be flexible and 3M will allow that. You glue it and it will crack in time.

I've had mine for a while, bodyshop painted and used windshield Epoxy. Never had a single issue with it.

I know some have used tape, I never liked the way that sounded so I went with something stronger and I've had my chrome strips replaced. No issues there either.

Both can work if done right.
