Default Illuminated Door Sills Project - Update 7/22/12

Got my couple of samples back and I installed them for the fronts today.

The metal is brushed aluminum and can very well be anodized. I left them the plain color for the sake of hurrying up the project.

NOTE: They're making the cutting blueprints for the rear 09-12 and 04-08 as we speak, so that should be done by next week tops.

04-12 should be the same pricing, $300-330 (+/- $20) for all 4 doors. I still have to calculate shipping back costs into it since I'm covering return shipping.

Oh, so we have to ship our plates to you first, and then they do it? I thought these were going to be brand new door sill plates with the lights.

I only use your plastic part of your door sill unit. You'll get your stock metal piece back so when you sell your car, you'll be able to take out the lighting kit and sell it separate or move it to another vehicle (if possible).

If I were to buy brand new door sill units for you, they'll run around $200 for all 4 door sill units. I know that price because that's what I paid for the units I bought for the cutting company to make the blueprint off of.

Ok cool, might be something I do later on this year. So is this a group buy or that's just the price as it stands?

You probably need to peel the protective plastic cover off them.

You can still send the whole door sill unit. I don't use the stock metal piece that you have bubbling.. I replace it with a customized one, and the lighting kit is placed underneath that metal piece. Your stock metal piece will be shipped back to you with the door sills already setup to install in your car.
@officerfrasher - the layer he's talking about can't be peeled off. It's a coating Nissan put on it to he scratch resistant.. Trust me, I tried lol.

Rani, can't he take his metal plate off and wrap it with a towel (or any type of clothe) put it in a press to straighten it out?

Are you guys ready for the GD?

Please make a list of who's seriously interested in this. Also, keep in mind that payments are due at the time of order in full. No financing for any reason. These kits are costing a lot of money, so I do need everyone to be paid in full.

List of serious buyers (separated by gen):

6th gen:

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.

7th gens:

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.

Note: Specifications of colors and wording will be stated in the official GD thread I'm making.

Your stock metal piece will be shipped back to you with the door sills already setup to install in your car.
@officerfrasher - the layer he's talking about can't be peeled off. It's a coating Nissan put on it to he scratch resistant.. Trust me, I tried lol.
I see a price for all 4. But what about just for the 2 fronts? An what is the turn around time?

Unfortunately, I'm only able to take orders for a set of 4 at this time. That's the agreement I have with the metal engineering company. I'll talk to them to work something out where they can make me a front set only.
