Default Help On HID Kits For 6.5 Gen Maxima

Hey fellow Maxima family, this is probably my first thread so sorry if this is the wrong place to ask a question. I have an 07 Maxima SE and I am wanting HID lights and I am very new at lighting stuff and all these xenon/conversion kit/ etc. I have no idea and no clue on the anatomy of headlights. Anyways I called the local Nissan dealership about the size of my headilghts and I gave them my VIN and they told me that my headlights are Halogen 9012. I also claled oreily and told me the same thing. I gotta get a conversion kit that is 9012? Cause most HID kit websites dont have the 9012 option....I did find one on retrofitsource.com but they're $150 morimoto. The guys at both places also told me I should get the 55 watt because my housing or whatever holds up to 60?? Is this true? I thought 55w could melt the housing.

So is my only way of getting 6000k lighting on my headlights are them 9012 morimoto from Retrofitsource? I also looked on DDMtuning.com but there weren't an option for 9012

Any help or advice is much much appreciated, heck even criticism. I'm new at this and I love my Maxima so I want her to look good. Thanks

9012 is another fancy name for a 9006 bulb, so any 9006 hid kit will fit your maxima..anyone can correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure im right

and for the person that told you to use a 55w is an idiot, its possible yes...but youll be perfectly fine with a 35w a 55 will melt your housing if not retrofitted, plus 55w will wash out the color if you get a 55w 6000k itll look like a 5000k so get a 35w 6000k 9006 Kit and youll be set

9006=1000 lumens
9012= HIR 1870 lumens Brighter.

I hate these bulbs as much as I hated the retainer rings. I upgraded to D2S just to get rid of those damn retainer rings. They are fragile and brake easily due to the heat of the lights.

You're pretty sure? LOL So you are not certain then? :\ I googled 9012 difference 9006 and didnt find anything. I do see many 9006 kits out there but I am not really confident if I can't get a "for sure" answer lol dont get me wrong, im just trying to be spot on. I will get 35w then thanks! i really want the 6000k though
