Default Headlight Modding Parts

Ok Ive done a lot of modding to my Max and one thing I really want to do is my head lights. This is something Im going to need to do myself since no one locally does it.

I understand how to remove them and bake them open, but thats it... I dont know if this is some trade secret or some thing but can those who did their lights post what they used?

What type of leds? Where did you get them? How did you wire them? I hope some one can post up some info we can all use. I know this is a project I can handle, Im just not sure exactly what to use...

I want to mod my lights as well Dave, but I'm so scared of baking my lights in the oven. Plus if I don't seal them well enough they will fill with condensation, and since it's my daily driver I can't afford to be down any days.

I would love to have the Angel Eyes in my Max and depending on if I get a set of wheels with black accents, I would also paint the inside of the housing. So much to consider when doing mods.

Open, Paint, Halos can be done in 24-48hrs. But adding Leds could take longer. What are you looking to do?

Feel free to pm me.

I bought my LEDs from oznium, you just have to make sure you get power from a constant 12V source. I made the mistake at first of drawing power from the battery and that burnt out my LEDs quickly because once the car is on it throws out 14v. Opening and painting is easy, at first I was scared also but once your doing it its easy.

I'm not concerned about opening them. Halos would be cool, led strips, or even individual LEDs. I'd like to see what people have used so I can get some ideas.

Agreed. I want to do a black housing with chrome accents and tree Leeds to count up on start up. Now that I am in electronics class I can make their controller just have to decide on the layout.

This a popular mod. The one who have done this make it sound easy. I agree David the opening of the headlights I can do. It's the sealing them back up and LEDs that I need help with. Hey Latinismo can u help with a wiring diagram for flash or strobe or anything else?

If I can get it together and working yes I can get a schematic for everyone. Deepening on price I might make a few extra. We'll see.
