Default Door Locking Issue... Actuator?

Hello.
So i have a problem with my door locking, well the front ones. Unlocking works fine, but when i try to use the button or the remote, locking the front doors is impossible. Moving the lock is very easy, just having them lock electronically does not work. Do i have bad actuators?
Thanks.

Default Re: Door Locking Issue... Actuator?

My guess would be the actuator. The only way I know of to test them is to pull the door panel, pull the plug for the actuator, and see if you have voltage at the plug when you hit the button. If you have voltage at the plug, it has to be the actuator. If there is no voltage, then you have something else going on...

Pretty sure voltage gets there as the lock handles try to move when i attempt to lock the doors.

Based on these symptoms.... in most cases it has turned out to be the actuator.

+1 on Actuator..

But I have seen in rare cases that the suspect was the master switch.. Hit it with a volt meter and test it..

I'm having problems with me rear doors locking on their own. I can unlock all my doors and then when I go to put the kids in the car, they're locked. I wonder what causes that.

Doesn't sound like what I'm having Hawaii. They unlock just fine, they lock just fine, but they lock on their own sometimes and it doesn't make sense, but ONLY the rear doors. Actuator going bad would seem that they WOULDN'T lock or unlock. They are just locking on their own.

No, he's right. Last year my doors went wacky like that. When I hit the unlock on the fob, or on the front doors, they would immediatelly lock again. This was spotty at first, but then it was constant. Brought it to the dealer and they swapped the actuator under warentee, problem solved.

Damn it man!!!! I don't have a warranty and I definitely don't want to open my door panel. Plus how much do these actuators cost?

I think it was like $70 bucks, so not horrible, and removing our doors is a breeze. It's getting inside the doors themselves that's a pain!

@ $70 a pop, I might just wait until they get worse and then fix them, right now they still work. And I have a phobia about doing work like that on my car, but when the time comes, I'll give it a try.
