Default Car Accident

Ok I recently got into a car accident and instead had the insurance company cut me a check so that I Can order the parts and get them installed for way cheaper then the shops. The question is what would I need or where can i go to get a full list of parts that I need to put another bumper on the front and where are good places to get bumpers? Is ebay a good place or are there other places in which I can buy a bumper with all the parts I need such as the clips and screws and such?

When you took your car to get appraised for damages, they should have printed out a list of parts that you would need and how much they would cost. They should have given you a copy of that, it's what justifies the amount they gave you to get your car repaired.

They can do a crash estimate for you but it might be 1-3 hours of labor or more . Go to any well known body shop .

Try an aftermarket bumper from ezkoncepts. The crash would be an excuse to do modifications!!! http://www.ezkoncepts.com/ezindex.html

It would have been a lot less of a hassle if you had let the insurance company and one of their approved body shops handle the repairs for you.

It would have been done properly in a timely manner without you having to waste your time shopping around for parts and hoping you got everything you needed.

Unless you have more time than money, how much money have you saved?

IMO.

The insurance company has probably cut you a check based on prices for knock-off parts. When I had my accident, I had to fight with the other guy's insurance company to get a genuine Nissan bumper cover. I eventually had the body shop help me out with the adjuster. They also wanted to bend my exhaust back into place. With the help of the body shop, his insurance eventually paid for a genuine Nissan bumper cover, and covered the cost of having my exhaust replaced. I am very thankful to the guys/owners of Magic Custom Auto...they helped me out greatly and did an awesome job fixing my car!

They cut me a check for 1447.00 and I went to another shop to get it appraised and they said it was 1880.00 so what do I do ? Fax them the other one and tell them to give me the difference? because they did appraise me for just parts not the bumper screws and mounts that I'm going to need such as the brackets that also broke off and were sitting in the street....

I would get 2-3 estimates and then give them the highest one, and tell them that is where you are taking your car.

DO NOT CASH THE CHECK until everything is finalized.
