no, they're not plug and play. You'll need to drill holes and splice into wires.

Ahhh, is this a serious question? This is like saying, I don't have a 4 piston caliper and if I just get the fake covers that make it look like I do, will I sop as if I had the real thing?

To answer your question, no. If you don't have heated mirrors now, getting heated mirrors will not work because there's power supply to the heated mirrors.

It was a serious question I was hoping just for a switch replacement. Well Thanks for clarifying that for me. With extra spice on top.

This is a grey area because i do not think that anyone has attempted to add heated mirrors. I think it could be done. The harness wiring on the car probably wont be there but if you know what each wire does on the 7thgen mirror i see no reason why the heated option could not be added.

Simply put the heated mirrors on the 6th gen get its power from the rear window defrost relay. It is on a fifteen minute timer and shuts off automatically and no new switch is needed. The FSM says the relay is under the drivers side of the dash but is pretty vague on the exact location. Simple way to find it is to toggle the defrost off and on and listen for the relay to click. Find a wiring diagram for the 7th gen mirror and get you a FSM for the 6th gen and match up the corresponding wires. Not an easy task for someone not familiar with working with a 12v system.

I wish I could add the OPEN/CLOSE function to my car is that a plug and play option? It seems like its in the same switch as the mirror function switch. Hrmm.

I'm not sure on that one. It looks like it is part of the switch from the FSM schematic. The switch will have some un used connections on it leading to the drivers position system that you probably do not have. Just a matter of working around it. Very grey area here.

Would you be able to take a picture of your switch / wiring ? Only if you have the open/close feature please.

NO not plug and play, you will have to run some extra wires

It is possible to do, but like HMax stated.. Your going to need to run extra wires to the junction box back to the mirror's harness.. Just find a schematic and find the wire for heated mirror..

What I would try to do personally, is to tap into the rear defrost wire back to the heated mirror, while having a fuse right before the junction box.. So when you hit the rear defrost it will also turn on your heated mirrors.. Now, I've never tried this and I don't know if this will even work.. Just a thought.. But good luck with the project..
