Damn, that looks pretty bad to me. I pay attention to details to much, that would annoy the hell out of me.

For what is worth, I did that on my 06 maxima and while I love the 07-08 bumper i didn't like gaps and the way it looked. Nothing lined up right and many friends actually asked me why is nissan making such bad bumpers. One day we had snow storm i .......well I damged the bumper and put my 06 back on.
My two cents is dish out more money and get the retro fit bumper. I should have it any day since I placed my order yesterday.

that's the gap? doesn't look too bad might just end up switching to the 07 bumper without converting hood/headlights. thanks for the pictures!

Yes, I ordered EZ bumper.
Bumper came in few weeks a go, I'm going to body shop and have both new bumper covers painted. I bought rear bumper from 08 since I like the look a lot.

Two things I don't like about my 06 maxima, front bumper and grille.
I got bumper that should look better and working on custom grille.
We'll see if I can improve the front end look.

Default Re: 07 Front Bumper On The 04-06 Maxima

im in the same boat, as my 04 bumper has 2 cracks in it, i was thinking about doing the full conversion but atm its just not worth the overall hassle. so i also saw the ez bumper but the only think i do not like is that it still uses the 04-06 grill, referring to I love the sharp lines on the 07-08 cmod grill rather then the round looking 04-06. so depending on cost i was thinking of getting a OE 07 bumper 150$ and having a body shop do the rest to smooth out the hood to match up the lines. thoughts? recommendations? btw im located in N NJ about 15mins from metro fender. Thanks

- Dan

I have hybrid bumper and looks great and give you the look of the 07,it doesnt cost as much as getting the hole front from the 07 + it has to be worked on to make it look good.

Yeah looks good on your ride. I couldn't do the lip, scrape that bad boy right off, but that is one of the mods I'd like to do. Glad to see you back posting.

I almost did that, but had a hard time finding a body shop that would do the work and stand behind it. Plus they wanted too much $$$. I think the conv bumper is a great option for anyone not wanting to spend the money on a full front clip conversion.

Yea, just from seeing vitecs pics it just seems the right way to go and save the hassle of either going thru a full conversion or just doing an 07 bumper with the body shop chop up. Plus im located right by metro so ill prob have them just do it to get the right fit.

Is the best way, I mean you could trade ur 04 for an 07 but that's a different story. Get the lip too is killer man.
Also shop around for paint and body work,I had some crazy quotes from $800 to $1200. I did the work my self and spend less then 3 bills in material.
Good luck.
