Advice Needed: 06 Headlights - my6thgen.org

Alright so i know nothing about the hids and what not but i want to change my stock ones. Kind of want a blueish color to em so what should i get and will they just plug right into my stock ones. Pretty sure my 06 SL has hids already right?

I thought all SL models came with HID.

When you turn on your lights, do you see a slight flicker at all? If you do, then they're HID.

Cheapest way is to get a conversion kit. A lot of us have done it that way. Best way is to get OEM HID headlight assemblies & ballasts. Cost is higher though. Search around in the lighting section, you should find tons of info.

Yeap you should have HIDs. All you need is a set of D2S bulbs. I would stick between 6-8K. 8K have a bit more blue output. 6K has a slight hint of blue. It also depends on the quality of the bulbs.

Yeah its easy. You have to drop the bumper though.

yes just like that except that your going to have to remove the front bumper...there is a thread on site that shows you how to remove your headlights properly for an hid setup somewhere i beleive

Are they around 20 bucks or so. Just making sure cause idk how much these things usually cost so i wana make sure they are legit lol. Found some D2s on ebay for like 22 or so

They should actually be $80-$100 EACH!

I bought some 20.00 bulbs from ebay from a local company. They've been in there a couple of months...so far so good. Im not spending 100.00 on any bulb unless I absolutely positively have to.

I have an 05. Put new ballast in and bought some 8k bulbs for like $60. I have to turn my light switch on and off 4 or 5 times to get the bulbs to come on. I've been told its because they are not OEM bulbs. Where did you get your bulbs 07maximan?
