Default Wheel Painting Question

Hey guys so I want to make my wheels glossy black. I currently have my wheels plastidipped and it's on there pretty damn well I've had it on for about 9 months now. Anyways my question is, can I use the plastidip that's on there as primer and just spray black spray paint over it and clear coat it too get a shiny effect?

This is clear for plasti dip and you can remove it just like plasti dip.

If you want to do it the rgiht way I would remove the plasti dip sand the wheels down then primer, paint and clear. I did this to my old 20s and they came out good took a weekend of work and about $50 is paint and supplies. Here are some pics of the final product, the wheels were black before.

Sorry but you have to take the dip off. The paint won't stick or it will flake off. Like tarmac said. Sand, primer, paint, clearcoat.

I'm just going to try out my method on the weekend, I'll be sure to post pictures. If it doesn't turn out nice or starts to peel or chip, I'll just do it the right way. I'm just tired of the plastidip look

Remove plastidip Sand with 400 grit sand paper. Apply bonding or adhesive primer. Sand primer with 1500 grit. Then apply Light coats of spray paint. Let dry Then sand with 2000 grit sandpaper. Then clear coat. Do not use gloss black spray paint as you will get sheen inconsistencies. This is the best way to do it on a budget.
