Default Tire size change to decrease turning radius.

I need new tires and have a question in that regard.

I noticed that my new to me O4 SE turns in parking lots significantly sharper than my 01 Anniversary Edition. I also notice that my 04 came with 245 40 18's instead of 245 45 18's and wondered if the previous owner had done that on purpose to allow the turning stops to be adjusted (if they're even adjustable). Anyone heard of that?

Thinking of the BFG G-force comp 2 a/s but still researching. Opinions?

BC

They re a bit smaller in diameter , just check with Tire Rack for both tire spex & compare them .

i highly doubt tire size diameter changes the full lock turn of rack.

You ll get slower speed than actually going as you ll get a slightly false reading because of the smaller tire diameter.

Yeah, I guess that's the key point, steering is limited by the rack, not by adjustable stops.

I can see someone putting smaller tires on to add clearance, then adjusting stops but apparently not with the max.
