Default Stuck Tire Pressure Valve Caps

Any idea how to safely remove tire pressure valve caps that are "corroded" due to Minnesota winter? Sears (where I got tires) telling me the tire pressure sensor could bust off... I'm afraid to twist them even gently with a pliers...

2007 maxima, new tires put on in August just went out to check pressure (sensors were NOT going off) and they're stuck...

Just wear eye protection and take them off. The pressure isn't much to cause any human damage unless it pops in your eye.

Are these aftermarket valve caps? I thought our stock caps are plastic? If you have 2 pair of plier, grab the TPMS stem with one to hold it steady (don't monkey grip it and crush it), and use the second set to twist the cap off. I replaced my caps with aluminum ones and I snugged them on pretty good to keep the dirtbags from taking them. I've never had a problem. Our winters aren't as bad as Minnesota, but we can't be too far behind.

bought the maxima from a friend, so don't know where the caps came from. they're just not coming off by hand and i don't want to bust them.

ok, so game plan.

needle nose pliers holding the stem, not monkey gripping it, using another pliers, twisting removing the caps.

i don't need air at this point, no sensors are going off, should i wait until i do need air? or best to get them loosed up now?

Losen them up now.. take them shits off and use better caps. This happened to one of my caps.. problem was it was over tightened and the final thread was stripped so it kept spinning. I got it off eventually and replaced it right away.

I guess it's better to break it now trying to get it off than to break it at a time that you absolutely HAVE to get it off?

Personally, I would never remove the TPMS sensors...simply because the dash light would drive me crazy.

well then the question begs, the spare doesn't appear to have a tpms sensor, and there's no dashlight going off...

Yessir! Word of advice if anyone else uses Sams Club. They MUST use the 'reset tool' or 'calibrate tool' on ALL FOUR sensors, and not just one otherwise it will throw an error while you're driving... I had to go back and they recalibrated all four, so far so food... $60

Edit:
actually had to go Nissan to reset the TPMS because 4 days after Sams did, went back to Sams and they reset it again, drove for 15 minutes and the malfunction light came on again, they said to go to Nissan and bring back receipt - which I did and got reimbursed.
