Default New tire for stock 18"...wanting more side wall

Looking for a set of new tires with a softer feel on the road, a little more side wall. I know the OEMs are 245/45 but, I'm thinking of trying either 235/50 or 225/50. I am lowered on KYB and Progress so of course the tires must fit with this set up. What are your opinions on this size tire on the OEM wheels or does anyone have this set up?
edit: also looking at raising the car up a bit with the tires, hence the size 50 side walls. I really hate avoiding bigger speed bumps with the lowered Max

Anyone use a different tire size on the OEM 18" wheels? Maybe 225/55 or 235/50? Really wanting to raise the car a little bit with slightly larger side walls on the tires.
Any imput greatly appreciated.

So you lowered the car. Now you want to make it higher with tires.. lol

Why don't you just go back to stock springs. KYB struts add some firmness as well. Did you not read up on the trade off?

If you must though. Look for a comfy tire. A grand touring tire

I know, I know. Sounds ridiculous that I want more height again, but that dam y-pipe keeps scraping.

Just a hint here , I have an SE R Altima ( a Max basically ) & factory oem are 225/45-18 , wonder if Max s 18 inch have the same spex .

245/40-18 s a good size , but will it have enough sidewall for your need .

Maxima SEs use 245/45/18 stock, so 245/40 would be smaller.

Ah ok , tought they were the same , never checked actually .

TireRack or Discount Tire Direct would be great places in order to give you info about what you want to acheive .
