Default Nankang NS11 or Riken Raptor Tires

I am in need of some new tires and wanted to know if anyone is running these.

Default Re: Nankang NS11 or Riken Raptor Tires

I've had nankang on my cars for years with no issues. Recently, though, I installed Achilles on one of my 6th gens, and they seem to be a better quality, speed rating, and wear rating than Nankang. They're weren't expensive either.

I never heard of Riken before, but somebody here might have.

I would go with the Nankang's.

Riken is made by Michelin I believe.

Trying to keep the price down. I currently have Nexen 7000 but these are both cheaper.

Have you looked at Falken 452's? If you look around you can usually find good deals on these and they way better than the ones you listed.

I currently roll on the Riken Raptors. Although I can not comment on the mileage as they came on the Max when I purchased it and I havent put a whole lot of mileage on these up to date. The wear is very even all around. Tire noise I would rate at low to medium( due to the tread design, I assume.) Traction is also very good.

Also, another thing to keep in mind is that they are directional so tire rotation/mileage will be limited with these.

Overall, again with the limited mileage review I would rate these as a very decent tire. As stated above they are produced by Michelin and they are made in Malaysia if that matters to you.

I gotta say this...Don't buy Nankang NSII man....I bought a set of 20" rims with Naknang NSII on them, the minute that I mounted them and started driving on them, I thought all my wheel bearings went bad all at the same time....These tire's are noisy...Don't do it!!! Hell, I took my 20s off just because I couldn't tolerate the noise they made....and from what I heard from others, They usually wear out within 10-12K. Don't buy Chinese tires...they are not safe...My brother has Achilese on his Subaru(5K miles on them) and last night he said that the treads are cracked....Just go with some brand name dude...Hankook, Falken, Kumho, These all have cheap tires and the difference would be 40-60 bucks for all four of them.

I had some RIKEN RAPTORS on my evo X and I gotta say for factory they are just terrible , only lasted about 7k miles before cracks and tread wear gave up, cheap and bad quality ended up getting Advans and they were 10x better

Got my new tires yesterday, decided to stick with Nexen but went with the N3000 255/45/18. Also installed my Ichiba Rear Camber Arms.

Better choice. I had Riken Raptor on the rear for a few years, because the Maxima is FF. They were simply there: barely any traction in slightly inclement weather and right before I replaced them, they were beginning to, "rot."

The only thing they did well was hold their air. A quick Google search reveals that Riken is just another Walmart bargain brand.

Nexen is a far better choice then riken if you look at the corner of the tire there is a nock off Michelin man stamped on the tire. The company has been in partnership with michelin of France since 1988 nexen has been arround since 1944. The nankangs are an entry level tire I put them on some customers maxima today. He wanted the cheapest thing. So u get what u pay for with tires and the nexen was a good choice. Just FYI get snows for winter cuz u won't be going anywhere with those . By the way I work at town fair tire selling tires just in case u wanted background on my knowledge lol

From my experience with tires... you get what you pay for is an understatement and a huge fact! Just finding good deals is another task. Especially for good tires and your suitable tire needs.
