Default Center Caps From Aftermarket Rims

All, new to the Maxima scence and i have a question. Just put some 20x8.5 rims on the front of my maxima but the spindles are sticking out to far and I'm unable to put the center caps on. Any advice , someone suggested grinding down the spindles close to the cotter pin. I also had someone suggest spacers. I have 20x9.5 on the rear no problems with the caps. No pictures computer is down. Sorry

Are you sure the cap is hitting on the spindle and not the cotter pin?

That's a good question. I haven't actually tried to put the caps on myself. The guys at Discount Tire tried and told me that was the problem. Is this common?

It is common with some wheels. But with a lot of them, they hit on the cotter pin.

If it's just the cotter pin, you can work with it to get it bent and placed just right to allow the cap to fit on it.

Rims are called wheels and spindles are not sticking out, you cant even see your spindles. However the axle is what's getting in your way and it's not sticking out, your aftermarket wheels have a bad offset. Of course the rear is ok, you don't have axles in the back. That someone that gives you bad suggestion need to be shot, over and over and you not listen to again( He's an idiot). If you grind down the axles, you mess up the threads and it will be very hard to pull it off when it needs to be replaced. The problem is your wheels, nothing else. My suggestion is to figure out how much of that axles is in your way and buy some spacers for your WHEELS.
