Reccomended tire size for the maxima is a 35 series for a 20" wheel.

A 20" wheel on a 30 series tire is going to look like absolute sh!t.

Pick these up instead.

So the rears are going to rub all the time or with people sitting in the back? Do they rub on suspension or just fender?

My goal was to either have 22's or staggered 20's. I can't make my mind up. I rather go 20's with my gtr kit then blinged out 22's, but if the price right I would buy either. Opinions?

They shouldnt rub because they're just over an inch shorter than they should be.

In other words, they'll bolt on but they wont "fit".

If lowered enough, it wont. Plus a 30 series tire with 20 is closest to stock 18s with 245 45s. Keep the speedometer close. The 35 series with 20s is almost 1" taller.

The front won't fit unless you bring out the wheel a bit with spacers.

285 rear tires with that offset will rub like a mofo. You'll need 275 to be comfy, and even then you'll rub a bit with rolled fenders. You won't rub against the fender, but against the inner cover.

I was actually comparing the stock size to 275 30 20 not 245 35 20 but ok, it's not much off but still. The size you recommended might work great for a car lowered with springs but not for a car with coilovers or air where the car would sit a lot lower and every mm counts. When I had my 20s with 30 series tires and lowered on progress, even with springs I was rubbing a little in the rear, with fenders rolled too. All Im saying is that even though it might look small to you, it's not for certain application. When you are as low as Deadbolt is, 35 is too big, trust me.

Default Re: 20x10 On The Rear??

The series of the tires used depends on the width of the wheel.

My 20x8.5 had 245/35 tires... my 20x10 have 275/30. I tried to use 275/35 tires and I didn't leave the parking lot of the shop becuz it rubbed like hell, even with rolled fenders.

Absolutely. In case some if you didn't know the definition, that series number xxx/40 r-xx is the percentage of the width of the tire. So, any 40 series has a sidewall heighth that is 40% of the tire width. It is not a set number, just seems that way since most if us hover in the same general area of width.

I'm sure most of you knew, just a heads up in case some of you didn't.

My 20x8.5 had 245/35 tires... my 20x10 have 275/30. I tried to use 275/35 tires and I didn't leave the parking lot of the shop becuz it rubbed like hell, even with rolled fenders.
Yea this is why offset is so crucial when selecting a wheel most people besides us enthusiasts... Just pick the wheel they like and trust the shop to know what they are doing... I want to do a 285 25 in the rear...
Also I have noticed that the wider you go especially with the lower series your side wall remains relatively close for example..
A 285 25 20 would be less than 1/8" of a difference in between the 275 30 20...
