Default 20s to 22s :(

So my car came with 20s and ever since i got it one of my tires keeps getting low, and came to find out the rim it bent a tiny bit. So Im thinking of putting on some 22s i have until i get my rim fixed. I put my hand inside of the rear wheel well and felt some kind of metal stick (in the top center very close to the wheel well) and Im worried it might pop my tire or cut it or something.I also want to drop the car later (probably ebaich) on but i have a big heavy system and don't want that little metal stick to mess up my 20s with the drop
any advice?
ps:22s are 22x8.5 38 offset tire 255/30/22, i will upload a picture of the little metal Im talking about tomorrow
Thanks.

Honestly I'd stay away from the 22's. 20 is plenty.

That's a threaded rod you are feeling. It's supposed to have a screw-on cap on it and is supposed to help hold the wheel well liner in place. I think my tires ripped those caps off, and one tire scraped against the rod, but then again my wheels are very wide with a lower offset. Most people either aren't low enough or don't have low enough wheel offsets to worry about it.

One thing to keep in mind about rear lowering springs is that the springs are a bit stiffer than stock, so it might not even lower the rear much compared to your heavy system and stock springs. When I had Progress springs, the rear height was pretty much the same as when I had stock springs because of the weight of my system and the softness of the stock springs.

Stay with 20 bro. Only reason I don't like 22s is because the higher you go in wheel size, the smaller the tire. The smaller the tire, the rougher the ride and the more likely you are to bend them or crack them.

Like someone told me, most people that had 22's switched to 20's and lower, for me 20's would be my max, 19's would be my preference and 18's would be my " I can work with size"
