Default Where To Mount Crossovers?

I have a set of MB Quart Q series that I am about to install in my 04. Problem is these crossovers are big and fairly heavy. I could mount them in the trunk but then that is a lot of speaker wire to run all the way up front. I dont like mounting them in the doors because of all the jarring from closing doors. In the pas I have found spaces under the dash. I have a big open space on the drivers side but the passenger is packed full. I am also considering under the seats. Was hoping for some feedback from other members that have replaced their stock components before committing to under the seats.

Mine are fairly large and they fit behind the doors panels.

yeah, door panels might not be a fitment issue, its more of a preference issue. A quick test proved it might take creative mounting though. these things are bigger than a standard paperback book. they just barely fit in the door map pockets. I ran some cables and under the front seats isnt a bad fit. the pillars didnt work out, too tall and too wide.

I mounted mine on top of the center "transmission tunnel", underneath the radio/HVAC controls, just forward of the shifter. I used double sided tape and taped one on each side of the plastic panel there. If you pull your center radio bezel, you have all kinds of room down there.

A while ago I was into changing all the speakers and like you I could find a good place for the crossovers. at that time I was planning on mounting the crossovers into the door pockets with double sided tapes where they wouldn't be visible and just drill two couple of small holes into the door panels from the inside for wiring...that way you wouldn't see anything and the crossovers would be mounted in a safe vented place and most importantly within 4 feet of wiring of the speakers(Closer the crossover to the speakers is better). The downside of this mount is that it would haunt you if you want to take the door panels off after you have installed the speakers(because of wires). Hope this idea could help you.

Crossovers are boxed shaped instrument that comes with the component speakers, one for each side that acts like a filter. They are designed to separate the input signal from the head unit at certain frequency and channel them to the appropriate speaker. Higher frequency are sent to tweeters and the lower frequencies are sent to the woofer.

How about mounting them under the driver and passenger seats. The speaker wire runs wouldn't be that long and they would be well ventilated and protected.

Mine are in the trunk. All 4. I figured it wasn't worth the effort trying to mount those slobs anywhere else.
