Default What 12" Subs And Amp?

So I recently got new h/u and coax speakers, but now have a bit of a dilemma. I'm looking to get the two best or good 12" subs and a amp for my buck. And is it true I should double the RMS wattage on the subs when looking for an amp?

I've looked at these kenwood's but also noted that if I don't like them amazon is shitty with returns.
Amazon.com: Pair of (2) Kenwood Kfc-w3013ps 12" 4 Ohm Performance Series Car Subwoofer with 2400 Watt Peak / 800 Watt RMS: Car Electronics

Price range for subs AND amp anywhere around $350 but if need be to go higher I will.
Just looking for some insight, Thanks.

I'm going to just come out and say it...those Kenwoods sucks ass!

There's no way a 60.00 sub will handle 800 watts RMS. The Rockfords will kill those Kenwoods.

If you want a nice sub that can take power look at Image Dynamics, JL Audio, or RE Audio. Thru don't come cheap and you'll need some clean power for them. I'm pretty sure they are out of your budget though.

Bottom line, get the RF's.

Like I said before, I will go higher in price if need be, thats not a problem. The kenwoods aren't even an option anymore, and thanks

Look at the Image Dynamics ID Max 12". With about 1000 watts and a proper box you'll love it.

I'd get on Craigslist and look around, you can find 12in subs all day long if you don't mind going used on the subs.

Last time I was sub box shopping, I bought my amp first, had them install and leave the wires (taped off) laying in the truck, then I dropped in different boxes until I found the one I like the best for fit and sound.

I personally have 2- 12" kickers cvs subs but i would probably reccommend Alpine subs.
If you have the money to pay for expensive subs then you won't go wrong with these guys' suggestions but Alpines will give you your bang for your buck without hurting your wallet to bad.

I totally agree with this. If youre on a budget Type R is the way to go. You can get these all over CL for cheap.

If you buy used Type R's make sure to get the newer ones. They have a ribbed surround. The old ones have a smooth surround. The new ones will handle way more power than the old ones.

My opinion is kind of biased. I have never been a fan of something you can buy a Walmart; stick with Rockford, JL, and Kicker. If you drive a luxury car; gotta get quality subs. As for myself, I got 2 JL W3's in a ported box (had it in my truck before). Got my rear deck speakers removed so it would act as a port. Bought a JL amp for the Door speakers (sucks cause you gotta buy a converter amp for the stock Bose amp) and dynomat the shit outta the trunk. Spent a pretty penny but with the beauty wall, it's a nice sight. Trying to upload a picture (from a tablet); not sure if I'm doing something wrong but it won't let me copy/paste.

Check out the pic from my profile; lighting was shitty so the carpet looks kinda yellow but you get the idea

MMATS subwoofers. Get one 12 and a good amp. i had 2, 10" pro series in my old maxima and it spidered my rear window. (so i went to 1).

You will get what you pay for. I prefer one sub to save space, so get a bad ass sub and a bad ass amp to drive it.

BTW - the MMATS juggernaut subwoofers can run 1,500 rms all day long.

MMATS

good luck
