Default Sub Help

First let me start by saying i hope i have posted this question in the right place....i have a 06 maxima with a stock bose system. i added two 10'' kickers and a kicker amp a few months ago and have liked the addition. i feel like the factory amp is limmiting how hard my subs are hitting. i hooked up my LOC after the amp on the bose sub side....my question is do i need to hook up before the amp or to another speaker to maximize my subs potential???

This is my first post so please let me know if i did something wrong with the post so i can fix it for the future!!! thanks.

First welcome!

The factory amp is very limiting. With those subs you'll need an after market amp. I'd look at the Kicker 750.1.

Oh I guess I missed you already had an amp. With the right amp those subs should be pounding. I had one 12" with the 750.1 and it was crazy . Something is wired wrong somewhere.

You might want to check the loc settings if it's adjustable, but more importantly it's not always your amp that can limit the power of your subs, with those subs you should be running a high quality 4 gauge or higher amp wiring kit, and atleast 12 gauge speaker wire..also your charging system should be high, no matter how big or small your amp is you always have to have a good battery running, but afterall people have different definitions of "loud" you have to remember a loc won't put out the same potential as an aftermarket headunit, also make sure to check your settings on the amp to your preference of loudness as long as your not over powering your subs, and finally 10 inches subs in sealed boxes don't really hit that hard in maximas considering all the restrictions
Behind the seats etc. if you want to get loud, you might Want to switch to ported boxes, or aftermarket headunit. If you have anymore questions just let me know

Btw, I'm running 2 Rockford Fosgate p3 latest edition in a ported box with a Rockford Fosgate p1000 amp, Rockford Fosgate 1 gauge wire, Rockford Fosgate 12 gauge speaker wire, Kinetik 1800 battery and scocshe loc and it POUNDS

PLEASE don't use your amp gains to set your sub's "loudness"...this is how you destroy equipment. Set your gains the proper way.

It's not a matter of overpowering them. Underpowering them can cause more damage than overpowering them. Power isn't the issue, clipping is the issue. If you don't set the gains correctly, you will clip the signal...regardless of power.

underpowering is fine to a point, you won't destroy the sub thermally. clipping will sound like poop though.

it's best to send good clean power that works well within the sub's recommended power levels.

Your answer is yes. You need to figure out the wring and tap it before the stock amp. It can run the other way but you are trying to run an amplified signal to an amplifier. You are confusing the amp. Your set up should hit so hard it might be overkill. If not, you still have it hooked up incorrectly. Good luck.
