Default Steering Wheel Phone Button

Installed the Metra NIRD-01 and when I push the phone button on the steering wheel it cuts power to the radio. Kind of like its now a radio reset button. Any ideas????? 2007 MAX with Bose w/o nav

Does it actually cut the power to the radio, or does it go into phone mode as though you're attempting to make a call?

Yep, definitely cuts power.....security light on front of radio starts blinking. Is there anyway to bypass the Bluetooth function on the nird? Don't need it for the factory Bluetooth, have one built in on the kenwood

Call up the tech line at Metra...I spoke with them a few times when installing my Nird...they were pretty helpful...
