Default Preference of Speaker Companies

Hey Guys/Gals, I'm trying to get a feel of what the trend is now since I haven't done this in sometime and I'm not sure what speaker companies people have been using lately. Just want to see what some preferences are over others in terms of quality and longevity. I don't have the Bose system so I'm looking to start a makeover piece by piece. Thanks.

Thats a loaded question Bro. Kinda hard to put down. My questions are, what are your price range, what kind of music do you listen to. It really comes down to what you want to pay basically. You got the main stream players, RF, Alpine, pioneer, etc. Then there is your higher end, Morel, hertz, Focal, etc.

Also, to get full effect of speakers, you will need upgreaded HU and a good amp.

Music lately I just follow the beat. It can range from Classic Rock to Techno-Remixes. I used to have a Clarion MAX385VD HU but am looking to upgrade to possibly Kenwood from reviews. Years ago my brother used to use Orion but that was late 90s.

HU will probably be the 300s, speakers will probably be at least 200.

As far as hu's go,you can never go wrong with Kenwood. If you buy an older unit Pioneer made some good stuff. Their new stuff is so-so.

For new speakers 200.00 is kind of a low budget. I would look at the Alpine Type R or some Polk Audios.

I've got Morel Dotech Ovation 6'" comps in the front doors...very nice speakers. Hertz makes some really good speakers too...but you're going to be up there in price for either one.

It all comes down to two factors bud, quality and money you want to spend. When it comes to speakers, you definatelly get what you pay for. I like JL Audio, Alpine, boston acoustic, rockford fosgate. Definatelly go with quality components, down to the wires and connections. As with every system, make sure you dynomat for superb sound quality.
