Default Pioneer AVH-X5500 with Nissan 07 Maxima Bose

Hi there,
Finally I had Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS installed in my car with a very good price.

I recently discovered strange issue. As you can see in the video link below, when the volume goes high the screen some kind throws static back. I took it to the mechanic who installed the system, he checked all the cabling and re-did the cabling but the issue was still there. He then added sound cleaning module but the issue was still there. Then he replaced the unit and checked, but the issue was still there. So he finally came to saying, its not the system its the speaker or the Bose amp that my 07 Nissan Maxima has.

Has anyone came across with this kind of problem?

Here is the link of the video I posted on youtube.

Thanks in advance.

Ive said it before and Ill say it again. I always think its a bad idea to mix an aftermarket HU with Bose components. The Bose stuff is designed to work with the stuff its designed to work with with. It has very different OHM ratings than every thing else on the market. I ran an aftermarket HU for a very short time with the Bose speakers and hated it...

Is it the Bose Amp causing the problem? I have a 4 Channel Amp and a Sub Amp which I took out of my previous car....Can I use that one?

I also, have seen people using the aftermarket HU with Bose without any issues, may be different amp and configs in cars?

I cant say for sure thats the problem, but its the only thing that wasnt changed so it only makes sense.

Of course you can use the amps you have from you other car, assuming they work.

Your problem is definitely the Bose system the same thing happened with my dads SUV so I just redid the whole system

re-did the whole system? you mean speaker cabling or amp? I have a 4ch amp its by Alpine, I will try to replace the Amp but before I will try to remove speaker cable from the Amp one after other to check if its not speaker issue.

I checked my car, couldn't see the amp nor the speaker, have to pull down the hard carpet thing. I hope its either one of the speaker or Amp, easier to replace I guess?

Save your time it's not the speaker or amp. The speakers are a different ohm than the Headunit supports, if you want clear audio switch out all the speakers and run new speaker wire. It's not that hard if you take your time

On my dads SUV I replaced all the speakers and speaker wire

Oh yeah dont think it will be just as easy as swapping out amps. You dont want to do that. Like Kenny said you need to run all new speakers and wire. Car audio starts to become a money pit. The problem is once you start it you really need to finish it.

yeah exactly ^^^ you cant just replace the amp it doesnt work that way, maybe thats why you didnt see the amp in the trunk youre probably looking for the wrong thing, the amp that comes with the bose is very small and doesnt look like your average aftermarket amp, you cant just switch it out, its connected by a harness, easiest way is just

1)get new speakers
2)100 ft of speaker wire (i always get more than i need)
3)use your 4ch amp
4)mount all your speakers, plug in the positive/negative wires to the speaker terminals and start running all the wire all the way to the back of your headunit harness, the only challenging part youll have is taking the door panels off if youve never taken them off, but honestly its not as hard as it seems, like i said just take your time, patience is your bestfriend in this case, get a little creative and im sure youll be fine

Like David said, audio ends up being a money pit if you want it done, but if youre into audio as much as some members here you gotta step your game up and i guarantee youll be ALOT more satisfied.

With me i just run a nice set of rockford fosgate components, amps and subs...not the best out there but also not the cheapest and im more than satisfied.

Goodluck!

So here is the update on the issue I had.....My Audio guy spoke to some experts and they suggested to do this: Replace the Bose harness for Pioneer with the regular/standard one.....and guess what friends, this guy replaced the harness from the bose one to the regular one and it works like a charm.....no more static coming.

So anyone else who's having or may have similar issue can try using this.

Good for you. At least this fixed your problem. I can tell you from experience that trouble shooting audio problems can be very difficult. There are so many factors and variables that go into it.

There are two different harness for your car if you are installing aftermarket stereo. if you have a bose system you have to use the harness with the 4 RCA's but if you don't have bose system then its the standard harness.
