Default New HU Install w/ 6x9's - No Bass

Hey Guys, Last night I replaced my headunit with a Kenwood DDX318 DVD Receiver and replaced the stock 6x9's with Infinity Kappa 692.9i 6" x 9" 2-way Car Speakers. We installed the speakers first and tested and the bass hit as expected using an iPod in the stock radio. Once pieced the rear deck back together were we removed the radio and installed the new radio with the NIRD box. When I was on my way to work today I loaded music onto a flash drive to test and it sounds more like treble and the rear does not sound like its kicking in. Are the rear deck speakers strictly for bass or no and when replacing the rear deck speaker does anything need to be done with the amp underneath the rear deck. This is a non-Bose setup.

In the Bose systems, the rear deck speakers are subs...I would think the non-Bose would be the same.

Did you test the new head unit after installing it before closing everything up and it worked fine. If so then poor connection after tucking it all away. Otherwise verify the settings. A buddy accidentally turned on high pass filter options and couldn't figure out why the bass wasn't working. He took it apart several times before asking for help and we figured it out eventually.
