Double check to make sure all the wires are connected completely and correct . Did you upgrade from the stock stereo to an after market one ?

Its most likely that you have the Bose option, which runs at 2 ohm, you need to replace all the speakers when you upgrade to aftermarket stereo in order for it to sound good or you will need to crank it up.

I upgraded the speaker right after hoping that would solve the problem but nothing changed. I think all the wires are matched correctly and I used butt connectors on the wires so I know there's good connection

It might just be that you got use to the stock head unit, from what I have experienced with previous cars and replacing the stock head unit I have always needed to raise the volume higher on the after market one then the old stock head unit to sound the same . You might be able to fix your problem by adding a 4 channel amp and running your highs from that. What speakers are you running ?

I went with mtx 3 way speakers. Even when I crack it all the way up I barely hear a thing

I'm thinking you might have a faulty stereo that is not sending signal to the speakers if its new go return it and if its an older model go buy a new one . Or maybe what Kenny .
