Default Considering A New HU, What Do You All Think Of This One?

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...on/AVIC-X940BT

If/when I get another one, it WILL be a Pioneer, so don't suggest a different brand. It would also most likely be a double din. What do you all think of the one I posted?

Thats a nice one. Do you need Navigation? I just bought the Pioneer AVH-p8400 and its one of the nicest units Ive had. You can get it for I believe 699.00. I bought mine locally for 550.00. Its a great unit, check it out!!

The lack of almost an inch on the display is the deal breaker for me. But one with volume controls that are not at the bottom of the head unit is a must for the 04-06 because of its low mounting position. My steering wheel controls sometimes do not function correctly and it would suck to have to reach down so low to turn the volume down on a button.

The 940 appears to just be an updated version of the 930. The Pioneer website says the prices are the same for those units.

It's very nice, one of the nicest I've used. The screen is beautiful. I really like the 2 USB ports as well. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

Are you deadset on getting a double din? I have a pioneer in my truck and also my mustang but in my max i installed an hp touch and honestly for 1/3 the price it looks better sounds great is easier to use while driving and does more then any double din can do... my hp touch is not running the windows os the way it should i have ICS 2.3 cyanogenmod9 running on it. So basically its an oversized android phone running ice cream sandwich. When i sit in my car my cell phone is obsolete the tablet recieves everything texts calls facebook whatever else comes up on your phone.... obviously my installation still needs some work but you get the idea from the pic and you dont have to install directly in the dash they sell mounts so you need not damage your dash. just a thought..

I wanted to do something similar with my Xoom but 10" up there is to large. A nice rooted nook color wouldn't be bad. I think he is looking for something simpler though. I just ordered the JVC digital media player for $100 from crutchfield and an looking at a DVD player for the other slot since I have the NESA screen needing the second input do... Hope you find a head unit you like James.

Headunit sounds good frasher and 10inch screen IMO is a little too much.7 inch would be ideal and retain factory appearance

I think the Fire would be nice as well. I am also a bit bias to the galaxy tab plus.

In either case you still need a head unit and I think James has his sights set elsewhere.
