Default Bose Vs. Aftermarket Sound Quality

Lately, when I drive over a bumpy patch of road or when it is cold in the mornings CDs skip to the point where it is unbearable. I've found some of you have mentioned this problem in other threads and have decided to go ahead and just pick up a new headunit.

Really liking this one because the relatively low price and features.

I already have a JL Audio sub-woofer that will be hooked up to the new headunit, but my question is will all the stock bose components of the stereo sound any better with an aftermarket headunit?

Also, does the factory amp just hook right up to the headunit or is there anything special you need to do?

That's the only option I have at the moment besides the radio or one of those junky aux-cassette things. That is one of the reasons to get a new headunit so I can plug in a thumb drive with my music library on it.

Radio shack sells a good quality cassette adapter. Are you using brunt cd's? Those radios are really funny playing brunt cd's.

I'll have to check one of those out, I didn't know they made decent ones. And some burnt some not, while the store bought CDs sound a little better they both skip and stutter equally as much.

This looks promising, the only issue being if I spend $50 on that, why not just spend the rest, buy a headunit, and be done with it?
