Default AXXESS Universal Steering Wheel Switch

Has anyone installed the AXXESS universal steering wheel switch that doesn't need any programming, it self programs itself with some input from the installer. How well does this work? Any forseen problems one might have to worry about? I'm looking to install this with a Clarion h/u

yes all i did was tap into the vehicle harness, i think only 3 wires are used.
then you hook up your h/u and axxes depending on whether your Clarion has a 3.5mm input in the back or if not use the adapter that comes with the axxes which connects to a cable on the h/u that says "steering controls".
there is a write up on how to do this.

I use the PAC and its kind of a pain in the ass. Some times it works,some times it doesnt. Im not sure how the Access works,but if you get it to work well I might switch.

Good to hear. I do have the PAC switch, but I am no good with resistors and what not, so I want something that will be easy to install, quick fast and in a hurry. Im purchasing it now, and will do a quick write up depending on when it arrives.

Ok, I've followed the instructions (as best as I could) I have all wiring connected, and have gone through the steps. When you get to the part where it is going through its auto detect, and press the UP VOLUME button, do you continue to hold the UP VOLUME until the light stays solid or do you release it as some point? The light now stays solid red, but the controls are not working.

Dumb question, but did you hook up the 3.5mm jack on the axxess to your Headunit?

Not a dumb question....but yes I did, that was the last thing that I did, and double checked it. It is going through a series of flashes, and then goes solid. Do I need to get a vid of what it does?

No clue, make sure your cables are wired yo the correct wires on the harness, maybe its not recognizing your headunit.

@L a r r y did you get it figured out ?

I just put mine in, super easy

You have to hold the volume up when its flashing rapidly, then release when its done flashing, then the light will go solid and its all set

I haven't fooled with it anymore, but I'll try this tonight and get back. Thanks for the info, hopefully I didn't muck anything up on the wiring, but I believe that I did match up the colors correctly.

I checked all the connections, I did have move the ground wire off of the harness and to a solid ground. I have the gray/red wire connected red wire connected, and the white/green wire connected. For the flashes of the light, first series 3, second series 3 and the third series 10. I'm about at wits end on figuring this thing out.
