Default 2008 Maxima w/ Bose Amp (No-Nav) Wiring Pinout

I've been beating my head against the wall now for what seems like hours trying to find the pinouts for the Bose amplifier in 2008 Max. I can find ever Gen but 6&7th.

Does anyone have the pinouts for the 6th Gen Bose (no-Nav)? I'm trying to add an aftermarket woofer and keep the Bose intact for all of the other speakers.

What exactly do you mean by pinout? Are you trying to add an aftermarket amp+woofer and still keep your stock Bose system?

need to be more clearer, adding aftermarket subs and amp, you dont need to do all that, just but the amp, subs, and a adapter so that you can use the stock head unit and thatsit.

What do you mean? You said aftermarket subs and amp you don't need that? If it doesn't come with the car and it's another brand it's aftermarket lol

Don't go thru all that...it's called a hi/low convertor. 25.00 at Best Buy. Tap into rear speakers...done.

Oh, I missed the fact you wanted to use the Bose amp. My advice, don't. Even a cheapo swap meet amp will work better than what you want to do...

That's why, but he wants to add a subwoofer, you need an amp for a subwoofer, and an amp kit lol

The hi-low should have 4 wires coming out of it, if it has 5 that means it has a grounding wire, mine only has 4 though, anyways you need to find out which color wire goes to which terminal before the amp, some people hook up there converter after the amp but I did mine before and has worked great since day one, try to look for the instructions manual online for your converter and match the wires on the converter to the positive and negative of both speakers on the rear deck of your car

Id like to avoid tapping near the factory speakers if at all possible. On the Monsoon I had first tapped the pre amp wires, and after about a year I tapped the post amp wires which gave a much better sound. I'd like to know which wires off of the Bose harness are for the rear left and rear right speakers so I can tap there. It's much cleaner IMHO.

Sorry man, I couldn't disagree more the Bose amp will not have the power you need to get any decent sound from a sub. Also, you wont be able to control the volume of the sub.

When I first got my 07 with the Bose system, I had a Kicker 12" with a Kicker 750.1. I tapped into the rear speakers and I was blown away at how good it sounded. Plus I had a volume control for the amp so I have the control I needed.

Maybe I'm confused, but whats the difference in tapping the wires post amp near the harness vs at the speaker terminals?

To me, it's not a matter of where you tap the wires. It's really the fact you want to use the Bose amp. Like I said its just a lack of power.

If your amp looks like this

then use this pinout diagram. The Bose amps didn't change throughout the years.

I was just going to ask which is the remote turn on wire. I'll check my cable and make sure it jives.

I have run into an amp or two that did not turn on every time when using the remote out from the stock head unit. Reason is that most stock head units put out 7v on the remote causing the aftermarket amp not to see the turn on signal because the amp is expecting a 12v signal. I'm not saying that it will even happen in your case but i just knocked on some wood. Just something to keep in mind. I would run a remote line while you run the power wire for the amp. Tap into a 12v accessory fuse under the dash.

Not to hi jack someone's thread but I've been trying to do this for months with my mtx re-q and all anyone ever says is "just tap into." for those of us that don't know how to do this does anyone have an exact write up or pictures showing exactly how its wired in the trunk. Please try not to flame me, I've had many people look at my setup and dont know how to do it so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

"Tap into" means that you will have to splice into the wiring somehow. There are a couple of different ways to do it. You can use "T-taps", or "Butt connectors", or for the most secure connection, you can cut/solder/shrink wrap the connections. If you are still confused, my advice is to get ahold of someone that knows what they are doing to give you a hand and teach you. Otherwise you run the risk of damaging your equipment.

To be honest, if you dont know what youre doing or just unsure, take it to a professional. Your lack of knowledge might ending up costing more than just paying some one to do it in the first place....

Didn't know I had that option, thanks for telling me... Some people don't have the money for that, Hense why I'm this hasn't been done.
