Default Spring Stiffeners

Anyone have any experience with these? They have the individual pieces that sit right on the coils to keep the spring from compressing completely. Then they also have the big round base that gets installed underneath the spring.

Not looking to go this route but wanted to get some opinions on it as I look for diff ways to tighten up my rear suspension so I stop scraping/rubbing on bumps.

Basically.. this is the CHEAP route of things. I’ve heard of this in the past. Mostly used on track/race” cars back in the day. But not much on street driving.

Do it the right way and get coilovers bro!!

Its like the equivalent to the people who want "CUT" springs. lol

For the most part this is like a temporary solution. The Stiffners will eventually weaken leading you back to wear you previously were so keep that in mind. I see it as you can just save up for coilovers which is the best solution for your problem. Plus they have various pricing on coilovers so its not that bad!! Why cheap out on ride comfort? Feel me...

Pretty sure you could buy them on eBay.

These will make the car ride like poop. That's where the car gets the nice ride. You shorten the travel and increase poop ride.

Well guys, i have spring spacers not the one pictured above but the clamp style ones (sorry dont have pictures). i mainly got these because i was tired of bottoming out because of all that BASSSS in the car, lmAO, but seriously all the weight killed me. one of the worst thing any car guy want to hear is that scraping of a tail pipe or bumper (well to me it is). the spring spacrs helped a lot plus i really do not feel/notice a harsh ride or a "poop" ride, lol. i dont ride in the back of my own car, haha so if you are in the back and dont like it, GET OUT and take the MTA, lol

I was not planning on getting these, tho I'm not ruling it out until my rubbing problem is solved.

Also, KC mentioned how there might be a difference between my SL springs and an SE's springs. Anyone know if this is true, and if so, where that might be documented? And is it then possible to order the stiffer, SE springs?

If you are going to replace the springs I would suggest picking from Eibach, Progress, or Tein (threads on all of those). As far as struts go... I would personally go Monroe(a step up from stock), but people also like KYB(A direct factory replacement). Do some research and ask members different questions about each before you buy.

Why lower the rear if you have all that junk in your trunk and then buy extra stuff to bring it back up??? Why not just leave it stock and all the junk in the trunk make it sag but still have a decent ride and don't have to spend extra money???

Default Re: Spring Stiffeners

Lowering springs are designed to work as a complete set. Not pairs.

When I installed my progress, I did the fronts first (time restrictions), it looked perfectly level but handled horribly. The back end felt like it would swing out in turning because the front was so much lower/stiffer. I also felt the rake. It was kinda looking down while driving. I know it looked level but it wasent even close to truely being level. I then installed the rears and HOLY #$%#, what a difference.

TROOF.
