Are your front springs clocked correctly? They need to be rotated properly so that they set in the factory rubber seat correctly. Can you tell if the sound is coming from the front or the rear? Did they tighten the front struts tight enough where they connect to the knuckle (at the bottom of the strut)?

Default Re: popping noise????

hmm there could be a few things that come to my mind...

#1 they didnt tighten the strut mounts ,
#2 if its making almost a poping noise like metal hitting metal, it could be that they didnt put the rubber isolators that wrap the bottom of the spring. so everytime you turn the springs and clanking against the strut seats.
#3 if its a *POPing* sound , could be your axles , when is the last time you've check the axles ?

also if you could try to pin point the noise , Front / Back... and is it more like POP or CLANK ?

Clank sound is usually the springs rubbing against the strut, possiably as mention the rubber peice, or they may have even have the springs upside down.

Whats happening is the first coil or two are collapsing on each other. I had this happen with my Intrax springs. This makes a clunking or popping noise. Its not uncommon. Some spring manufacturers will actually send rubber insulators to slide on the first coil rings. Go to Home Depot and pick up some rubber hose. Should take care of it. But first make sure the strut mount nuts are tight.

Good suggestion, but I would think that wouldn't be a problem with Eibachs...maybe a cheaper spring, but not Eibachs.

I know its not as common here with the Maximas but I know they were having problems with the Eibachs on the Charger forums. The only reason I know about it is because someone on the old 6thgen site before we merged had a write up about it.

Cheeto is correct. I have the eighbachs/kybz setup and it did the same thing untill I wrapped the bottom coil in hose. It is alot better but it does still pop on slow sharp turns. Thats the price you pay for looking good.

Personally I hated the Eibachs. I got so many noises from them I finally gave up. I rode at stock height for a while then switched to Progress, way better.
