Default Is My Axle Screwed?

I was in the process of removing my front passenger strut when I hear my what appears to be my axle popping out... specifically at the joint. I think I yanked to hard on the wheel hub and didn't put my jack high enough to support the hub. At the joint, I can feel something coming in and out of the boot. I try and try to push it in but it appears that something is not allowing to go. I am wondering if when it popped out a bearing must have gotten dislodged and is stopping in from going back in. Below is a picture of the specific joint on the passenger axle. If you look at the boot, it is stretched out. I tried looking for a replacement axle but it seems no one (but the stealership) has them; even as a part of the database! I can't do raxles right now because I need my car. I am wondering if it might have to be opened up and reassembled. Any "helpful" thoughts?

Can you take off the boot to see what's going on in there?

If you didn't take the boot off, did you drive with it? You know by the sound...

The axle isnt screwed, easy fix. Take the axle out of the knuckle (hub) with a 32mm. Once u got the knuckle outta the way, screw the axle nut all the way back on. Keep the socket over the nut, raise the axle so that is straight (horizontally) u may need a friend to hold it. Now once ur friend is holding it straight, get a big hammer, like a 2 1/2 lbs, hit the socket hard n repeatedly until the joint goes back into the housing.

Alright First if your doing the strut , I dont see the OP pulling the 32mm bolt out ,

Also dont forget on the passenger theres (3) 12 mm bolts that bolts to the carrier bearing( bracket ) I dont see him pulling the axles out from pulling the hub back to get to the struts.

Now I could be wrong but to the OP , when was the last time you change your axles?
how many miles do you have on them ?

Has there been any clunking sounds in the past ? Unless I missed something or mis-read what you wrote.

I acutally have recently rebuild axles with less than 200 miles on them for a 5AT.

From the pictures it looks like the bearings inside the axle has pop out .

Try out what Dolla said first tho ,

Never changed the axles... currently have 95,000 miles. I was about to install some d2's i've had sitting for a while but I think its a sign not to install them. I am going to try dolla's suggestion tomorrow if I can get an impact wrench and 32 socket. There is slight clunking when I hit dips. No clicking when I do turns or accelerate.

Don't take out the rubber boot or the 32mm nut dude. I did that once, easy fix and it's not screwed, just don't drive it until it's in fully. What you do is turn the axle slowly while pushing it at the same time. When it finds it slot, it will go in easily, just put some muscle into it when you push. It will be alright, shit happens.

What he did was he took the two bolts for the strut off n the hub is too heavy for the axle to hold the weight then the knuckle came outta the axle housing. U basically have to put the axle knuckle back in the housing. If u can find an easier way to put it back in then go for it. He doesnt have to take the axle out but relieve some of the weight to make it easier to put it back in. GL.

Like they said you shouldnt have any problems fixing it...

If you do run into more problems, check around. I picked up an axle with warranty for $40 and me and my buddy put it on...
