Default Monroe Bump Stop?

I need some help here. I'm putting new Monroe struts, bumpstops, and boots on but the bumpstops arent like the oem ones. Has anybody used the Monroe bumpstops. I will post pics if need be. Will I have to use Monroe strut mounts with them?

I know some have used Monroe shocks, but not sure about the rest.

Bump for help!

Default Re: monroe bump stop ?

Your factory strut boots have the bump stops molded into the top. If you are going to use the Monroe bump stops, you'll probably have to cut the OEM bump stops off of the top of the boot.

Well the Monroe bumpstops come with the boot so I was going to replace both the stop and the boot. My oem boots and some tears so I needed new one. The top of the monroe ones arent as big round as the oem ones and wont fit in the top hat like the oem ones. I was thinking to cut the top part off the original and use it in conjunction with the monroe ones

Well I cut the top section off of the stock one and cut part of the new one and made it work. I also had to cut some extra off the new one because of the lowering springs. Hopefully it works out. If not I will update . Thanks.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
But, when you add Lowering Springs into the setup, your supposed to cut off the bump stop and just use the boot.

You know I looked at that but doesnt that not leave any stop at all. On another note, I think progress give you a stop so I figure you would need something. I have teins btw. Just gonna see how it works out.

Yes, Progress springs include new stops to be used after you cut the old stops off.
