I had my Nismo front sway bar installed at a local tuner shop here in Houston. Well as soon as I left I heard some popping sound all the way home. I just thought it was the suspension settling in no big deal. Well this is what I found. The passenger side motor mount is messed up and the transmission is leaking now. Not sure if the lowered the subframe a little too much and distorted the back of the transmission enough to cause it to leak.
What do you guys think? This place is well known for tuning GTR's and 370z's all day long. They are probably the top place to get nissan's and subaru's tuned. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

that could be a possiablity, you have to lower the subframe down a bit to get the sway bar.

You should DEFINITELY take it back to the shop.
And since it's supposed to be one of the top spots than, there is a pretty good possibility that there is some type of warranty on their work. That should take care of everything... |

Take it back and let us know what they say.
On a side note, you probably should have taken it back IMMEDIATELY!

Absolutely, keeps the blame on them. That way, they can say it's not their fault because if it was, it would have happened right away.

Looks like they dropped the subframe too much without supporting the engine. As for the oil, why would that b leaking? What else did they do?

Well, I spoke to the owner and he said that they will be getting a mount today and that they would be taking care of it.
There are two mounts one on each side. One on the passenger side that is bolted to the car. The other is mounted to the transmission and bolted to the subframe. Well, I think they lowered the subframe too much or pulled on it to get the factory sway bar out and the new nismo one in. That somehow twisted that back cover on the transmission. The oil that it is leaking is very thick. So I think it's the CVT oil. |

Now I will have to guess how much cvt fluid dripped out and add a little to it. My next trans flush isn't until 100k.

Shit. I'd slash all of their tires. Follow them home and beat the shit out of them! I hate it when other people fuck up my car.
I'll never install a front sway bar. Never will I install those endlinks either. |

What's the problem with the endlinks? As far as the front sway bar goes, it's do-able, you just have to take your time.

I've not heard that of the end links, and the front sway bar IS a pain in the nuts to install.

I swear up and down someone was able to snake the sway bar out without dropping the subframe. I wanna say it was an SE-R sway bar. It was on the old dot org.

Not good. They probably don't have much experience with 6thgens. But make sure they fix it correctly.

Ok they fixed it. Turns out the oil is actually grease from the cv axle. After I left the place I went over to the dealership to verify my trans wasn't leaking and they were the ones who found the gash in the boot. I'm just glad its not the trans.
