Is it ok to heat the stock springs and put them back on to lower the car???

I did that back in the day with my 1990 Celica, never had any problems with them. I wouldn't do this on the Max thou.

You alter the properties of the metal when you heat them. I don't think anybody can say for 100% certain that it is or is not safe. I would not recommend it.

Heating springs is actually worst then cutting them. Heat breaks down their strength....

you're driving a maxima.... not a honda... pay the extremely cheap price for lowering springs and call that a day. heating your stock suspension destroys the reliability of the metal.

Follow the advices kid! Just save some pennies and buy even some cheap lowering springs.
Heating the springs on the Max may compromise the ride as far as if you make sudden stops, the car may dive into the direction of the weakest point of the heated spring. I've been in some cars back in the days that have comparable weight distribution as the 6th gens, that when going around bends like ramps and such, the heated springs makes the car feel real loose handling like. Not safe if you want real traction doing that on a wet surface...

Hope we dissuaded you from doing this....

Not just the Maxima, any car is bad news to heat springs.
