Default Cutting Springs

Thinking about cutting the springs to lower my o6 maxima. I'm trying to lower 1.5-2 in. in the front and possibly .8 -1.0 in. in the rear. I know it isn't widely recommended, but what's the harm if any? Also how much would I have to cut off the spring to achieve parameters mentioned above. I'm on a budget and can't buy the eibach's till later. New to the site, pics coming soon.

Default Re: CUTTING SPRINGS

Please don't do this. Save up and do it right. Lowered springs are thicker and have higher spring rates to compensate for them being shorter and so your car wont bottom out and damage suspension parts. You cut stock springs and they will not be able to handle the weight of the car, you will trash the struts, ball joints and tie rods, possibly axles, bottom out and be bouncy a shit. Just save up and do it right dude.

Default Re: Cutting Springs

Lets see for starters, you weaken the springs. not to mention how hard it is to cut each one at the exact same spot. than of course theres the problem of them being cut in the wrong spot and if thats the case you will have the problem of them not staying in place

I know about suspension, you do that you better save money on buying a new car. I wouldn't risk if for the biscuit. Save money and buy lowering springs.
