Default Brakes Humming Randomly

Hi everyone,

I just have this kinda wierd intermittent humming(somhow between humming and grinding sound) sound while braking in speeds under 40mph, has anyone had this problem? I inspected the rotor and the outside brake pads, there's a fair amount of meat on the pads, but what I noticed was that there are to faint trips of uneven wear on both rotors, however the sound only comes from the passenger side. The uneven wear is not deep at all, it's more like a texture change on the surface of the rotors close to the center of the wheel hub. any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Did you double check that calipers, etc were bolted on tight, and that brake fluid was at right level?

Good Point, I gotta check the caliper bolts, but I can't remember if I have ever touched my brakes ever...I think the pads are still factory, Hopefully I will get the time to check the calipers tomorrow

Yup....I checked the Calipers and they were tight, took out the pads and they are Nissan Hitachi Yet they have almost 1/4 inch meat on them....I was going to change the pads but since I saw that the rotors are in a mildly uneven condition, I decided not to change the pads, just cleaned the cooling slot in the middle of the pad( was filled with brake dust) and put them back....I'll wait until the whole pads go away then change the rotors too...I think the sound was a result of some hard spot in the material of the brake pad....haven't heard the noise again yet
