Default Bad Shocks Ruining My Tires? What Rear Shocks To Buy?

My tires have about 20k on them. They make this horrible buzzing/vibrating noise...Its only coming from the read and seems to happen all at once. Its loud. My last set of tires did it and the tire shop said I didn't rotate them enough. They also told me I couldn't rotate them too much, so everytime I changed the oil I rotated them.

Now the new set is buzzing in the rear again. The tire shop is now saying that maybe my rear shocks are bad. I do think that my car sags alittle in the back but it has no other signs that the rear shocks are bad.

What should I replace my rear shocks with?

Also is there anything else that anyone can think would cause the tires to do this?

They put the tires on the balancer and spun them for me and on the 2 rear tires you can see an abnormal variance in the tread pattern. Like I said, the tire shop said it could be caused by not rotating them enough or something bad in the suspension, the rear suspension in this case since those are the tires that are bad.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Some tires are just noisy and that is all there is to it. If you do decide to replace the rear shocks, I advise that you replace the front struts too. Struts/shocks should always be replaced in 4. If you want a little bit of a stiffer ride then go with KYB GR-2. Stock feeling, Monroe.

Ok cool. thanks for the info. When the tires are put on they're quite as can be. Maybe I need to switch tires. I'm running Cooper SR-4's

If your car is sagging it's a spring issue, not a strut/shock issue. How many miles are on your car?

Nissan dealer OEM replacement is actually KYB GR-2s. Don't get them through the dealer though, I'd get them from eBay.

I had a set of BF Goodrich G-Force KDW's. They started to sound like worn out wheel bearings. Switched to a set of used Goodyear RS-A and the sound is gone.

If you are on the OEM suspension, I'd say you are due for new shocks/struts. If you have been debating lowering springs...I'd do it all at the same time since you are going to have it apart anyways.

I have KYB Gr2s and they are great.

This is where I ordered them:

I think I have the same issue. I have Goodyear eagle gt's. Had the rear tires checked. Tread was good but he said there was some cupping. He also told me I'd just be wasting money balancing them. I checked up on cupping and it seems to be caused by bad shocks.
