Please vote for your preference of the best intake.

If you can please state a reason why you like this intake over all others.

Nismo. I'm coming from the standpoint of reliability and safe investment (water bypass valve). I hear one or two more might give better performance, but most of us use our maxima's as daily driver or 2nd weekend vehicle and it probably isn't "necessary" to squeeze every last bit of power out of this vehicle.

I vote Takeda because it was make by one of the designers for Fujita but with a better design. The sound is very similar to the Fujita and best of all it can be converted from Cold Air to Short Ram in a matter of minutes. I think it’s a great reliable and quality intake. It comes with two quality filters (one for Cold Air and one for Short Ram). The kit also brings a hydro shield which is added protection for those using Cold Air on the rainy days.

I voted Takeda due to the bracket points and the overall quality of the intake. I have it set up with the short ram and it produces more power and sounds better than the fujita. The fact that is also comes with a hydroshield to protect you from hydrolocking when your setup with the CAI is a plus!

So Takeda sounds better than Nismo? Do they both offer the same amount of protection against hydro-locking?

Takeda is the best intake ever. Best sounding (Pretty much same as Fujita) because it was designed by a previous employee from Fujita.

You have the ability to go to short-ram and cold-air. It comes with two filters for each setup and also a hydro-shield.

I was the first member with this back in 08-09' and LOVEDD IT!!

Many members are converting to Takeda now. Plus you don't have to worry about the infamous injen/fujita mounting bracket breaking.

With what eddy said + yes it gives the same if not more protection because it includes a hydroshield that goes over the filter which basically repels any water from being sucked into the filter. Only way you'll hydrolock is if you go swimming with your car.

I have the short ram setup with the takeda and it really sounds 10000x better than the way my fujita use to sound. It also gives more torque.. i could def feel it but i dont know if its because i have it on short ram mode vs having cold air setup.

Overall, i love the takeda intake and would deff recommend that over fujita atleast.

I have takeda, comes with 2 filters (one for short ram and one for regular) and can be changed to short ram very easily!
Also sounds meannnn when I'm gunning it!
Plus a keychain, stickers, and a license plate frame!

My vote was the R2C

I've had
K&N drop in. It's like a stock setup really.
Nismo CAI: It eventually broke at the bypass valve.
Fujita: Louder and maybe only slightest big stronger than the Nismo. I believe this would be due to a little better angle on the single piece pipe. Nismo had a sharp bend in it.

R2C Wins IMO:
1. Style hands down. Black chrome gorgeous.
2. Short ram: I feel this gives a better launch that a CAI. Zero hydro-lock concerns. Easy to clean the filter.
3. Materials: very high quality rubber etc used for this intake.
4. No oil filter. Detach blow out, re-attach and your good to go.
5. Highway power: Still plenty of power but I think the CAI is a bit better here but not enough to make me want to switch back.
6. Sound quality: Not as loud, a little smoother on acceleration. It even changed the exhaust tone. I like.
