Default Tuning Air/Fuel After Header Install

Allright I'm a little confused here....I got headers coming soon and I'm planning on using the O2 fouler method to eliminate the CEL. I assume the way that this works is by preventing all of the exhaust gases from reaching the sensor. My question is: After I install these I plan on getting a fuel controller, which from my understanding is adjusted according to readings from a wideband O2 sensor. If we are tricking this sensor to alter readings to eliminate the CEL, isn't that gonna create false data for the tune? Thanks for the feedback

I believe the tuning/fuel controller comes with an 02 sensor.

Does this sensor take the place of the one in question?

Typically they will come with an 02 sensor that will install in place of one of the factory 02 sensors...that is how they get their reading.

Ok so if this is the sensor in question, it is being moved from the exhaust stream outward via the plug foulers, which gives the cpu a different reading so as to no trip the CEL. Will this false data affect tuning??

No. A few of us have this setup (02 Simulators) and don't have any issues. The wideband gives you a pretty accurate reading. It even works good on 07-08 Maximas as shayne (iirishsamuraii) has it on his 6.5gen.

Many 5thgens also have this setup and are able to get accurate Air/Fuel ratio numbers to tune.
