It's going to sound like poop. Just replace it with a Magnaflow dude. I would not completely get rid of it unless you don't mind sounding like a civic fart can.

Don't listen to some of them idiots. Just get a magnaflow one, will be better then the stock one, will give you more GOOD sound, more HP. Part number 12640. It's like 60 bucks dude.

Owens right. Removing your res will not add HP. If you plan on a ypipe and headers I would let it go.
I have headers and ypipe and my mufflers can't really handle all the air. Sounds a little ricey - I might get different mufflers.

Here is a maxima that has headers, y pipe, magnaflow resonator, 2.5 piping and mufflers. Personally I think it sounds bad ass. This is what mine will sound like. I like the G35 sound and I think this one matches it pretty close but louder.

Full Exhaust will yield better gains than an annoying drone sound inside the car.

Actually removing the resonator does give gains becuase you are removing a large restriction of air caused by the huge stock resonator. Best advice would be to rplace it with a smaller resonator such as a magnaflow resonator to tone down the inside drone. But no matter what you will get drone!!
