Default Pondering An Intake

I have been thinking about buying the R2C intake that just came out. However, a couple of you guys mentioned that they will probably get rid of their intake and put the factory one back on (courtesy of the hella funny thread created by OwenMaxx. Sorry bro, but i couldnt resist). Besides some extra HP and the sound, is it really worth the money? I already have a Cattman catback exhaust, so for me the sound really wouldnt be that obvious. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Well you have a whole lot of options. I would stick with a Fujita intake and you'll be happy. Its worth the $$$ and performance.

As far as R2C I don't see nothing special about it. It will make about the same power as any other intake give or take a few. No big deal. It does look fancy and nice though.

I say injen....so when you spot that puddle ahead...you can make that necessary adjustment. Plus it sounds just as good as the fujita and makes the same powa.

My only concern with the Fujita/Injen is i live in Houston and it rains alot. Avoiding puddles is difficult based on my commute to work, etc. So thats why i was leaning more to the R2C. Plus, if i were to get an intake, i want one in a black.

I have the Takeda Intake.... which I can convert to cold air or short ram whenever. It also comes with two filters. Same exact sound as Fujita.

hmm...i see...but bottom line...they all do the same thing. in my opinion the benefit of paying more for the injen is that you get two intakes in one. the jita with its single design cant do that.

I have the Nismo, and I love it. Would I pay $300 for it, no. I scored it. But The Jita doesn't sound much different from the others, the single design is cool but I much perfer the ability to go short ram if need be. Its not just about submerging it in water, if the filter gets too wet on a long drive in the rain it will have a hard time letting air through, and also may send some of the water it is holding up to the MAF. This happened to me in my Altima on the way to Grafton, luckily I pulled over and did what I had to do in time so I didn't Hydrolock, but it could have been a real bad situation. Atleast with a Nismo, Injen, or Takeda you can convert to short ram if need be. I would never buy a one-piece intake again, i'd only go short ram or one that can convert to short ram.
