Default P2A00 [Edited, had the wrong code]

Ok so it has been awhile since I have tried to fix this sucker, but since I moved to NY I guess I wont even be able to find a shop that will let it slide, so it needs to be done.

I have Catt headers, Catt Y with the converter on it, Greddy Catback. When the original morons did the install they chopped my O2 wires and screwed up everything. That said, all of the O2's were replaced, and then the harness was extended. Also, the ECU was replaced thinking that they may have fried it by screwing up the install, since according to others I should not be throwing any codes with this setup. New ECU, same code.

Does anyone know how to fix this P2A00 code?

This code is for A/F sensor bank2 (radiator side) first sensor. Without looking at data
Probable causes are:
Could be the A/F sensor being lazy or stuck OR....
-injectors (bank2)
-fuel pressure
-intake leak past MAF
-MAF
-exhaust leak

This one is a bit difficult for the DIY. For one you need a high end scan tool to view live data of the AF sensors injectors and sensors, but also to stop and reset adaptive learning.(much, much easier this way) but it can be done nanually but its almost impossible!

If you do end up deciding to take a stab at it yourself, purchase a genuine Nissan A/F sensor. Reset idle air/throttle and adaptive learning.

Also, you need to set all the OBDII monitors to READY before you are ready for emissions.
Search Eddys tread how to set all monitors to READY.

I THINK we've already done this process but I'll have to call my Nissan guy to see. Thanks for the info!

I am also having problems with this code. I have a 2006 6-speed...R2C intake...and intake spacers.
It is showing me that this code is the A/F Sensor1 (B1) I have replaced the sensor and am still showing this code. At just under 80,000 miles I took the car to the stealership for them to replace the cat before warranty expired and on the way home from picking the car up the light came on with this code. I took it back to them and was told they could fix it but it would not be covered under the warranty. Long story short I decided to fix myself. During the next oil change I noticed the flex pipe had a very small hole in it from where they change the cat out. Also they left a bolt out of the flange. I have replaced the sensor and bolt but have not fixed the flex pipe. Would this small hole in the flex pipe (cannot hear or feel a leak) cause this code?

Your exhaust leak is past the sensor so it shouldnt matter however, it could be your EGR being slightly stuck letting in more air on bank 1. You really need to view live data fiqures to fix this or you will be just throwing parts and money at it.

Thanks! That is what I was thinking but wasn't completely sure. As far as the live data figures...my Dad has a SnapOn scanner that tells way more than I know what means. Lol...He may or may not know but how can I tell what the figures should be? Is there a guide somewhere with those figures? I haven't really messed with this kinda stuff much (that's what Dad's are for...Correct?). Haha...Thanks again for your help!

No idea. I dont use sims. Not worth it IMO. The sims cost half price of the sensors and they are essentially a band aid.

but, figuring that my sensors are fine since they are new, i am getting a code due to the headers and y-pipe Doing the testing for a bad sensors would probably end up costing a decent penny, so at this point I would think a band-aid would be fine.

But you have codes for rear sensors as well as P1273, P1284 ?
Where are the rears installed? Can you post a pic?

I'm thinking back to when I first troubleshot this issue, and I know it cannot be the sensors. I had them swap the front and back to see if the code moved, it didn't. Different sensor, same code. I do not get any other codes, only this one.

However, upon some googling I found a Sentra forum where someone found out that their MAF was causing the issue. I can't imagine that this would be the case since the MAF was not touched when this code happened, but I will give it a cleaning this weekend to make sure.

Other things I have seen are bad gaskets coming from aftermarket vendors, god I hope not as swapping those gaskets would be a nightmare. Wouldn't I have to pull the headers right off just to swap em? I don't have the tools, and don't want to pay for an experiment, to see if that is the case.

Would the headers to Y gaskey throw a code? I may look into this one since it would be cheap. I am notorious for blowing gaskets out in the read of the exhaust. I literally had them replaced 2 weeks ago and they are already blown out. Riding low, in the winter frost heaves, causes a lot of bottoming which seems to be ripping them up.

Is there a thicker/better gasket alternative? We have even tried doubling and tripping them up with no luck. At this point, for this issue, I may remove the connection all together and weld a straight pipe in there.

It does seem that most people who throw this code end up with other codes as well, at least that's what I find when I am searching online. I keep reading about people with 350Z's running into this issue. They are all saying the same things, no bad sensors but a bunch of random issues. One had a crack in the exhaust, one with a bad MAF, one just needed a relearn.

I can't imagine that an ECU relearn is going to do me any good. When troubleshooting this problem before, we completely replaced the ECU with a factory new one, same issue.

So with all of that said, I think I am down to 3 different issues. It's a bad MAF, a crack somewhere, or a bad gasket. I do know that my headers cracked at the welds, but this was welded back together, and also happened after the fact of the headache code.

If ALL else fails, I did read about the sentra moving their O2 down to a "lower bung"? I don't think we have this option, or are they talking about removing the secondary and putting the main sensor in the secondairy position? They were saying that the rear sensor, because of the headers, was only catching exhaust out of 1 pipe, where the front sensor was getting all 3. Do you see any bad ramifications or moving the main sensor to the secondairy position? I think I remember someone saying that we can run our cars without secondary sensors as long as the main sensors are working correctly. I think the second position is behind the cat so I would think that this would make a difference.

I know I just wrote you a book, but you seem to know what you're talking about here and I'm sooo sick of being alone in this quest lol

Nobody can chime in here? I talked to a local tuner shop that said they had the same issue with a Titan who bought Stillen headers, I guess Stillen knew what to do... but I can't bring myself to call them since I didn't buy the part from them.

I will respond to you later on when I have some extra time. I meant to do that a few days ago but time got away from me.
