Default P1402 SES

So I recently got the P1402 code (EGR valve) so I read through the forum and saw people were saying it could be clogged cats throwing the code so i decided to punch them out (the front one close to the grille cause I coundnt figure out how to get the nut off of the back one I could get to the bolts from the bottom but couldnt figure out how to get the nut from the top, need some advice with that) I also need advice on where the EGR is so I can inspect that to see if its clogged to, I saw pictures that Nizmo posted but I couldnt find it cause the code is still there and I dont want to keep driving around with it and make it worse.

Here is some pictures of the front one:

Also do i need to run 02 sims now that my cats are punched cause im also throwing a code P0430 (Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold)

Also my car is not starting normally some times it takes a good 2-3 second to start.

thats a federal emissions law regarding any car brought in the U.S

80,000 miles is set in stone for that. not too sure that the 8 year thing applies to it as well

If you look under your intake and your throttle body you will see it, there are 4 12mm bolts and one bout an 1" bolt on the back there two bolt on the front that connect a pipe and there are two on the EGR connecting it to the engine and the big bolt on the back connecting the other end of the pipe. Its kind of a PITA but the way I did it was remove the intake and the throttle body, removed the two bolt in the front holding the pipe to it, then putting a pair of vise grips on the big bolt in the back and hitting the vise grips with a rubber mallet cause its a PITA to get to it, I did that to brake it lose then it should unscrew by hand, then I took of the two bolts holding the EGR to the engine, then'sthere two hoses and a connector that have to come off then it will pull right out. then there are 4 screws on top of the EGR, unscrew them and you will have the EGR taken apart like in my picture, I just hit it on the table and all that stuff just fell out. Then just slap it all back together.
