Default Nismo Catback Part#20100-RSL20

I am looking at purchasing a Nismo catback Part# 20100-RSL20. Will this need to be modified to fit my 04 SE Auto? If so, what is required? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

search the forums. this has been answered a handful of times.

2" will need to be added for it to fit.

2" needs to be added to make it long enough because that exhaust is for an altima.

Actually it's about 3-5 inches needed to make it fit the Maxima properly

Yeap. Extension welded on is all you need, sweet exhaust, but getting harder to find every day that goes by and not cheap. You're looking at anywhere from a $550-$950 investment. $550 if you can find a nice used one. Good luck!

My exhaust shop said they had to add 6"-8" to mine to get it to line up properly.

Rain & I are probably thinking about the other version that we have. I've never asked Dara (Blaxima06) about his, so I guess that model difference makes the difference in extension length. Learn something new every day!

ESTEP - thanks for the heads up. I can't find it. Can you provide the link?

After digging a bit more I have found that I cannot get this any longer. The website which offered it explained that they thought it was removed. Does anyone have any insight on this part# - 2010S-RSD25? It is for an Altima also. Is it just a matter of extending it too? Does anyone have experience with sound?

I received my exhaust late last week and tomorrow is finally THE day....Racingline HFPC, Racingline Y-Pipe, and Nismo Catback. I am a bit concerned though. The exhaust that I ordered is obviously for the Altima, and understood about the extension, but it is a single muffler set up. Is this even going to work on my '04? Does anyone else have this set up? I was expecting a twin muffler set up and am not sure that this will work.

Nick,

He said in a later post that the company no longer carries that part #, but they forgot to pull it off of their website.

To the OP...I got mine from Leeparts.com

Ugh! Seriously? I tried ordering the 20100-RSL20 (Leeparts.com) and I was told that Nissan no longer makes this part. I was also told that part# - 2010S-RSD25 is what is being used now. I also just googled the 20100-RSL20 and 3 out of 4 people who are advertising it are also showing the same image with the single exhaust - Click the image to open in full size. which is the same image that Lee is showing here - Click the image to open in full size..

So this will definitely not work?

Ugh!

If you have a competent exhaust guy, he can make it work...how much do you want to spend on him making it work? Also, you only have 1 muffler...

one muffler can work, Deusexmaxima made it happen... im not a fan of it...

i just wouldn't be a fan of spending $800 on an exhaust then another $200-$300 to make it fit my car. just search a little harder. also, before purchasing, email the company and ask if it is a dual muffler setup.

Thanks for the suggestion. Cost is not really a concern for the shop as I am going to be installing it with my bro-inlaw/mechanic in his shop. However, I am not a fan of the "make it work" moto. I was already having difficulty with the extension aspect, especially considering the cost, but after such high reviews, and searching around I decided to go the Nismo over Greddy or Ebay cback which would have been direct bolt-on gain. I understand that sometimes you have to make it work but it's not going to be an option with this one.

Its funny that when I pulled it out of the box on Friday after I picked it up at Lee's that I said really one muffler and didn't give it any thought, but when I layed it out to take a photo I really got curious and now here I am in the 11th hour ready to explode because I have time lined up in the shop tomorrow and I don't have right part.

So I guess what I am hearing is that it's back to Lee's with a 25% restock fee of $200 and a re-order for the correct one?

If for some reason I decided to give it a go what would I be losing or gaining with one muf vs. two?
