Remove the stock resonator. You may very well end up with some nasty drone though.

So basically, you want to get tthe bigger piping but keep the stock mufflers? I am not sure how that would work out power wise as the ebay pipes (i believe) are bigger going into smaller pipes in the mufflers. I am not sure how that works, if it has restrictions or causes restrictions. I am interested to hear what the educated folks have to say on this. Good luck

Replace the stock resonator with a smaller aftermarket one.

Any decent muffler shop should have something useable on hand.

DO NOT run straight pipe in place of the resonator. I tried it, big mistake.

I couldnt even hear myself think...:frown:

While they're under there, have them cut out the crimped section too.

Louder?

Headers + Y-Pipe + Ebay cattback = Loud.

Ditch the stock mufflers, they suck.

voltgaming did the eBay exhaust and was talking about changing the tips to look more like factory.

Anybody know if he succeeded? Haven't seen anything from him.

If you want tips that look factory, get the Vibrant mufflers. It is counter-productive to put 2.5" piping, and run it into a 2.25" muffler. Your exhaust will only flow as well as it's smallest point.

It's the 6sp vs CVT thing from what I hear. I've heard the CVT's are prone to some major droning issues.

Everyone likes a loud exhaust in the beginning. But give it a few months and it will annoy the crap out of you.

I have two small performance resonators to tone down the noise and also eliminate any rasp from the headers. I would not do straight pipe or leave it without a resonator. The cabin noise is just horrible.

I can drive peacefully and can hear my music and conversations.

Just my .2 cents.
