Is this a high-flow pre-cat, or the cat in the y-pipe? If it's the one in the y-pipe, I'd get the Racingline y-pipe and call it a day.

As far as I know Magnaflow does not make a Nissan direct fit application for precats. It would be universal.

That's kinda where I was heading with my question.

I asked at a muffler shop here and he told will make no difference, i was talking of the one in the y-pipe, not the pre cats. I will go with the racingline y-pipe first, my only concern its the shipping to P.R. other ? this one fit may car? 5 speed. STAINLESS STEEL RACING EXHAUST HEADER 02-06 NISSAN ALTIMA 3.5 V6 VQ35DE L31 JDM | eBay . Only the headers work or the Y-pipe too?

I was emailing Racingline about their new y pipes and if I understood him correctly there are no 5 speed ones available yet. They are in the process of re-tooling them.

Those headers will fit BUT.....
1. They are not direct bolt on.
2. EGR has to custom adapted
3. A/F sensors reading of 1 cylinder on 1 bank...will turn your ECM into lean fuel tables and it will increase the injection pulse a lot. Over fueling and thus killing your universal Magnaflow cat.... Trust me you need a bigger OEM cat. (initially,I killed a Magnaflow cat within 800 spirited miles believe it or not)
4. Extending rear o2 sensors is required.
5. Moving primary A/F bungs is required to avoid lean reading and CELs
6. Y Pipe FLanges don't line up out of the box. They need to be cut off and re positioned/welded.
7. Header bolt holes need to be slightly enlarged in order to make the rear (Bank1) heAder fit. P/S pressure hose also needs to be looseNed out of the way to slip the rear header in.
If emission testing is something your state takes seriously be aware. I'm still battling a CEL from time to time for the front sensors....

Now to the good news.
Once you get your fueling A/f setup right it sounds amaZing and its a BEAST.
