Default Is The Kinetix Manifold Worth It?

I was thinking of getting the Kinetix manifold but I'm not sure if it's worth the $749 they're asking for it!!

According to the website the gains are more in the mid range RPM's. Do you loose low end power? You guys that have this mod, did you loose any noticeable amount of low end power?

I don't get to open up my car too much on the highway because I mostly drive it on the weekends. i take the train in to work M-F. If I would gain both low end and high end power then I would definitely consider getting this!

Let me know what you guys think! Thanks for the feedback!

Don't know much details on that, but I remember the overall opinion was that the Kinetix was beneficial only if you're spraying. If you're running stock intake/CAI, then stick with the stock manifold.

You will lose Low end for sure. My opinion is to just stay stock in that department or have the UIM and LIM port and polished, polish the UIM or have it painted and call it a day. Only thing I like about the Kinetix UIM is that it loos pretty under the hood, other then that I would not spend 700+ on it. Get the headers for that price and that will be a lot more beneficial. That's just me though. Ask Eddy, he has it.

I knew two guys with this manifold that were not spraying. Both loved the manifold and say it made a huge difference.
The aftermarket intake manifold I put on my z was hands down my favorite performance mod.
I'm not really sure why the 'not worth it' opinion got started but in my opinion its worth it. Not to mention it looks SICK under the hood as well !

It should be paired with nwp spacers so you don't lose that low end.

+1, on what Raz76 said.

It looks real good under the hood! I'd also probably go with the polishing as well. I've also read that it's best only if your are spraying, I think that was from Kevin007 (RIP)

But CleanMaxx is saying it's a good mod? Now I'm confused. Time to do some more searching. I think a lot of the "not worth it" came from the big .org. If I recall there were a couple of pretty heated threads.

I guess it all comes down to the Dyno for performance and then you got to decide if you like the way it looks regardless of performance or cost.
A+ for looks IMO, I've always wanted the Kinetix.

yea, i've heard if you're spraying then it's more beneficial. But i'm definitely not gonna be doing any spraying. would love to hear some feedback from the natural aspirated guys!

i hear you man... i do have the NWP spacers installed would that compensate for the low end power loss? so far as headers, don't think i want to deal with the headaches of O2 SIM, running rich etc... so i might not do that mod...

yea, i already have the NWP spacers installed and i already notice some gains in torque! but $700+ just for the kinetix is kinda steep! the only way i would do it is if the gains were significant and i don't loose too much low end power!

Go for it man. I've had my kinetix manifold since 07'. Kevin, Me and ChernMaxx were the only few guys with it at the time and were satisfied with it. Many people didn't like most noteably because of its price.

Yes, you do lose some low-end just like the SSIM mod on the stock manifold. But if you are not racing every single day there is no need to worry about it. I know I don't. I love my kinetix.

As far as them cracking??? There have been only like 2-3 cases. It can easily be re-welded for a like 20-30 bucks if it ever happens. Its a rare issue so I wouldn't go by "they've been high known to crack".

Once you get it....you will love it. Plus it adds a nice look to your engine bay. It would also come in handy if you to ever spray as well.

Thanks for the feedback Eddy! so far as the "low-end" power loss. Is it very noticeable as in if you try to accelerate you feel you have to floor it just to get some pickup?

I noticed it quite a bit. And I think porting/polishing my lower intake manifold contributed to that loss as well.

After I got headers... it wasn't such a big deal.

You will re-gain that low-end power loss in your top-end though.

I love my Kinetix, my favorite performance mod to date. I'm not spraying yet, but I felt a big difference after installing it. I also installed the spacers at the same time, so I didn't feel a loss of low end!! I recommend it to anybody.

I also NWP spacers, R2C intake, Cattman Y-pipe, Nismo catback.

I may eventually spray but probably not until the Maxima is not my daily driver.
I felt a big difference from 3000RPM and up, I have the CVT so when I go WOT is goes straight to redline and pulls real hard!!!

Okay I don't have CVT. 5sp Auto

So do you feel any difference below 3000rpm.....ie less torque off the line?

It's my understanding that generally "air" mods cost some low end.
