Default Just Installed A Takeda CAI

So as the title to my thread states I just installed my Takeda Intake. The instructions were... basic. So I have some questions that weren't answered in the directions, and seeing as how a few people here have this intake I figured I would pick all of your brains lol. So in my build thread I stated that there was a wiring harness attached to the drivers side wheel well that I have to finagle around to get the pipe in the car. Anyway

does that look right? I had to kind of shove it a little to make room. Even still I couldn't get the bracket on the pipe to line up with the bracket that attaches to the frame. And the rubber spacer looks like this..

Basically, is this normal? Should the spacer be THAT bent out of shape? I live in Arizona so the heat and dry weather destroys rubber, I just don't want it to be under SO much stress that it breaks.

I would expect it to fit pretty easily, are you sure you got it for the right year? How does it run?

Well the part number on the box matched the part number on the instructions so I would assume so, also the MAF fit right in with no problems. It's just this is my first DIY performance upgrade I've ever done. I've wrenched before but just maintenance stuff like brakes and other basic maintenance. So I'm partially second guessing myself and partially second guessing the install I guess?

As far as the intake goes? I like it, it REALLY screams when you get on it and you can feel more torque in the butt dyno. Also my MPG has ALREADY gotten better, obviously I'll have to wait until I'm a couple of tanks in to be certain but I think I'm getting about 2-3 more MPG with normal driving. Once I get a friend to ride along with me I'll upload a video on my build thread. But my dad was impressed with the sound of it after we finished up the install.

Ugh... I remember the last car I had that had anything done to it. Yesterday and today was convincing the wife it wasn't going to cause any issues I think because I was super light with the throttle and basically hypermilling. However, I know that part will pass and I will be on it all the time everywhere and helloooo 80 dollar gas fill ups and 14-15 MPG.

Stupid sexy sounding car....

My bracket on my Takeda intake looks all funky too, but after a complete year it has not messed up or anything.
