Default Intake RPMs Stutter While Going Back Down

whats up guys, my friend just installed a intake and the rpm is like stuttering/ skipping while going back down when revving it, i did the idle relearn and the throttle test any ideas what it can be?

If it is a multi piece intake, make sure the maf input section wasn't installed upside down.

The MAF meter is meant to meter air in one direction...make sure it isn't backwards. Also make sure there are no leaks/everything is tight. If you get unmetered air into the engine, you will get some nasty surging.

yups sounds like the MAF is backwards, if you look at the plastic housing , I belive theres an arrow that shows you the direction of the air to travel

the thing is the maf was never removed only unclipped the intake uses the factory slot so it wasnt removed. would a leak cause this?

get a can of brake cleaner , start the car up and spray short mist around the intake pipe , if the idle jumps or stays steady sucking, you have a leak.
